Policy
Children are admitted without discrimination. Carefree Kid’s Montessori Pre-School do accommodate gifted children and have good relationships with a school that focus on gifted children. Children with special needs are admitted subject to the school’s ability to provide for those needs. Unfortunately our teachers are not trained to work with special needs children. It is important that parents/guardians understand and are committed to the mission and principles of Carefree Kid’s Montessori Pre-School.
Procedure
Parents are welcome to visit the school, situated in Garsfontein, Pretoria East, please make an appointment beforehand to make sure that you do not interrupt the children’s Montessori work cycle and that a teacher is available to show you around. You can also contact the school to find out when the next Open Day is. If the parents have decided that they wish their child to attend Carefree Kid’s Montessori Pre-School a registration form should be forwarded to the school together with the deposit. The school will let the parents know if their application was successful or not.
If Carefree Kid’s Montessori Pre-School is full entry will be from the school waiting list. Children may be registered on the waiting list at any time but it is recommended this be done as soon as the parents have decided they wish their child to attend the school. A registration form should be forwarded to Carefree Kid’s Montessori Pre-School together with the deposit. A separate registration form and deposit is required for each child.
Enrollment Criteria
If the number of children exceeds the number of places available, the following criteria will be used to determine the order of priority
- Date of application
- Age of child
- Emotional maturity of child
- Sibling of a child already at the school
- Prior schooling
- Special circumstances
If an opening occurs the parents and child who applied will be invited for an interview.
Securing a place
If the parents accept the offer of a place at Carefree Kid’s Montessori Pre-School they must complete the registration form and pay the prescribed deposit. They then become legally responsible for the school fees and acknowledge and accept the rules of Carefree Kid’s Montessori Pre-School.
A place in Carefree Kid’s Montessori Pre-School will only be secured when the required forms are completed and returned to the school and the prescribed deposit is paid.
School times:
Full day: 06:45 – 17:30
Half-day: 06:45 – 13:00
Holidays
Please note that Carefree Kid’s Montessori Pre-School will be open during all holidays except for 4-5 weeks in December, Public holidays and weekends. There will be no formal pre-school programme during the school holidays but there will be a holiday programme.
